Mary-Jayne (www.mjrust.net) and I have just returned from our annual Ecopsychology Course residential at Doune on the wild Knoydart peninsular (www.doune-knoydart.co.uk), in the north west of Scotland.

The module is part of the MSc in Human Ecology run collaboratively by the Centre for Human Ecology (www.che.ac.uk) and the University of Strathclyde. This year, the fifth that I've co-led the course, there were 13 students. We were also joined by Tania Dolley, who set up the programme in 2000 with Brendan Hill, and Margaret Kerr who is the psychotherapist I'm working with on the Natural Change Project (www.naturalchange.org.uk).

The weather was characteristically wild and wet but the group had a fantastic time on 'solo' - exploring their relationships with the rest of nature in a direct and powerful way.

The course ends in May and I'm looking forward to seeing the students' essays, which always bring some inspirational contributions to this burgeoning field of study.

This course is the only one of its kind in the UK and has been very successful in providing an academic home for Ecopsychology.
