I was interviewed for an article called 'The Inner Revolution' by Nick Kettles, published in July's Ecologist. The feature explores aspects of the psychology of environmentalism and what we might learn from our 'inner journey' about living more sustainably. I am quoted on the paradox of 'shock and awe' communication tactics, and the role of direct experiences of nature to motivate activism and transcend the scientific browbeating that many environmental NGOs naively presume will change our behaviour. Climate change campaigners and communicators - in NGOs and governments - will fail to change people's behaviour sufficiently unless they apply the lessons emerging from ecopsychology.
